Write a paragraph to describe and analyse the cartoon above.
In your opinion, can slacktivism have a real impact on subjects that matter?

In the cartoon, we can see someone being attacked by a man with a knife. The girl is shouting and asking for help. We can also see that every other character on the cartoon is seeing this scene, but nobody does something, they are just tweeting some hashtags.

It could be very kind to do this kind of behaviour, because it brings smiles on faces or warmth to the heart, because you know that some people are supporting you. But it shouldn't stop you from helping others in real life. Besides, it has to be done with meaning, but on the catoon, it seems that nobody cares.

Slacktivism could have a real impact on subjects, like we had the example of the cleaning day with some youtubers last year. They posted a video on the net, in order to raise awareness about pollution, and ask the youth of the country to be more careful about their impact. And it worked.

In the cartoon drawn by Ericallie we can see a woman being attracted by a man with a knife. She is lying on the floor asking for help : "Help ! Please ! Someone do something !". All the other people on the cartoon, 10, are either on their phone either on a computer. They are posting hashtags like #dosomething #StandWithHer or #United4Her whereas in the reality, they are doing nothing to help her. They are just watching her get hurt while being on social medias and posting about it.

The artist is pointing out the abusive use of our phones and the lack of actions that we have. We are passive.

I think slacktivism can help things evolved sometimes but you need to complete it with real action. Juste posting about something on the internet isn't going to help much if in reality you are doing nothing. Activism if kind of a life style rather than just something to get fame. Sadly a lot of people are just using hashtags for the fame, for the like, for the followers... But for some causes slacktivism can help, for example the #metoo movement helped women to speak up etc.

This cartoon represents a woman with a man who aggress her and she calls help. And all people see that but they just post #hashtag on their phones, profiles... They don't help her. I think this cartoon represents the society (quite exaggerated) because all people support the women who was assaulted and denunce that (or lots of others problems in the world) but they do nothing in the reality. They juste look or juste close theirs eyes in reality and give support to her (or other person) on social network and some are aware of that but they don't do anything. It's a good representation of slacktivism.
And even if people do slacktivism and no activism I think sometimes they can make the problems evolve by the big number of likes, retweets... Because lots of people have (and watch) the social medias and that can help people. Like the #metoo who help women to talk about sexual assault. So for me it's better than nothing but it's not enough.

We can see a a tragic scene on this cartoon. A man is going to kill a woman in the street. The woman is asking some help but people around stay at home and send messages to support her. They are not acting to save her even if they can do it and see her.

This cartoon wants to warn us about how much lazy became people because of technology. Some people think that they can change the world supporting movements staying at home. I think it can help with time-consuming problems but not with the kind of problem in the cartoon. Some situations need human's actions and not the social network's impact. To my mind, to sign a petition is a way to be well in your mind and to let others act at the same time. It is the definition of slacktivism for me.

On the left of the cartoon, we can see a young woman which calling for help “Help! Please! Someone do something” because she is attacking and mugging by a man. She is also joining to a wall and highlighted by the white light. Nevertheless, on the right of picture, we can see an apartment block where all the habitants being near the window and answering to the girl thanks to utilization of social medias. Indeed, they practicing the slackvitism although expressions as “#Banknives”,”#Dosomething”,”#Doingsomething”,#united4her”,”Standwithher”,”#Hastag” and “#Blamebush”. On the bottom left hand corner, we can see the name of the author EricCallie with the name of the cartoon “Cagle cartoon furious diaper”.
So, we can deduce that it’s an ironic cartoon because the author criticizes the fact that the slackvitism is very useless in the situation of danger for the girl. In addition, the cartoon shows habitants who are more busy and lazy practicing slackvitism than activism in order to rescue the woman.
Consequently, my opinion about slackvitism is that this form of militancy hasn’t a real impact on subjects that matters because of his inefficiency on varied situations. The cartoon demonstrates his inefficiency with impassibility of people side the attacker. Slacktivism is so then a waste of time when activism is essential on different dangerous situations for example violations of human rights. But, this activity can have the benefit of inform and encourage people to enter activism associations if their future will be threaten

In this cartoon, we can see a young woman getting agressed in the street by a men menacing her with a knife.
Just next to her, there is a building with people at the window. The woman is yelling for help, and people in the building are showing their solidarity from their home, but no one of them go out to help her.
It shows a kind of hypocrisy because all of the neighbour are showing there support to the woman but no on them really help her.

I think that slacktivism give the illusion of being committed and to fight against society problems, but in fact, it impact is very limited. At best, it gives a bit of visibility to problems that are under-represented, but most of the time its just useless and doesn’t help to resolve problem.
The slacktivisme is not very bad, if it enables some people to get involved, then it’s even positive, but the most of the time it is just u

This cartoon shows a young women being agressed by a man with a knife, in a dark street on his way to kill her for whatever reason he has. The woman is shouting "help, please, someone do something" and a bunch of people in a building near to te the street hear her, but aren't doing anything. Instead, they're all on their phones, posting on social media about what is going on down the building, using hashtags as "#united4her", "#dosomething" "#banknives" and so on...But none of them is going to help her. This cartoon was created to report the fact that too much people use social media or technologies to defend a cause, or to make people understand what they're thinking. Most of the times, they're not even capable to go in the streets for the same cause... they're just thinking that giving their opinion can help this cause, but in fact that has absolutely no effect.

i should nuance a bit my opinion. Sometimes, slacktivism can have a interest. It can make people become aware of what is going on in the world. But slacktivism alone isn't going to lead us to make the world change. We have to act next to that. Some hashtags made people move for some important cause, as equality between men and women...

Ericallie draw a cartoon where we can see a women being attacked by a man holding a knife. The women is lying on the floor, we can see that she really scare and asks for help. Beside people are looking at the scene and no one reacts , they are just posting hashtags to support her on social media with their computer, phones...

Here the cartoon criticizes the fact that we spend to much time on electronic devices and want to show that our society becomes lazy.

In my opinion, i think that slacktivism can helps things to evolve because nowadays many people are sharing their life on social media. Many causes are now supported with hashtags such as sexual assault and thanks to that many women feel more confident. So in the way slacktivism is really helpful for some subjects, however it isn't enough in our society , sometimes it's better to act.

We can see a girl who is attacked by a man with a knife in a drak street. She is screaming "Help ! Please ! Someone do something". Next to this scene, there are a building with people in. They are all on their phone to tweet with hashtag like #Dosomething but they do nothing to help her.

This cartoon shows the slacktivism and the fact that people support causes only on social media. It shows the people's passivity and the fact that they spend a lot of time in front of screens but they don't act in the real life.

I don't think that slacktivism can help things evolve because to like a post or to change a profile picture to support a cause doesn't change anything in the world. But sometimes retweet or share a petition for example can raise awareness people to act and to change. Today more and more causes are supported on social networks and many movements were born that way but people need to take action in real life to make it bigger because otherwise nothing is going to change.

Hello
We can see a girl on a black street, threaten by a white man with a knife. She is calling help and everybody is on their phone, they post a #DoSoething or event #UniterForHer on their phone but NO one seems to move.
This picture raise awareness of the impact of the slacktivism in our society.
A hastag will never help her. No one call the police, or even go down to frighten the attacker.
I think that the slacktivism is just an illusion of helping people. Social networks are the perfect platform for them but a real evolve will appear when everybody act in their own life and not behind their their social status.
The slacktivism is just a way to flee in front of the real life. People have to go on a strike or even sign a petition to move the world, not change their social status on facebook.

Then on the right we see a building with people at each window, they all have a phone and they see that the girl is being assaulted. Instead of physically acting they act on the net, writing # someone do something.
The message that this cartoon wants to convey is that in certain situations it is better to act in reality than to post # on the internet. And that now that social networks have "invaded" us, people are doing nothing but posting everything they see, even in situations like that of drawing.

Yes I think that sometimes it helps to make some things happen, because as networks are a universal means of communication, it is easier to pass causes through these networks and then organize more activist things!

This cartoon denounces the slacktivism and the slacktivists who do nothing when they see an issue or an aggression. The women cries out for help but people stay sit in their sofas and make hashtags with their computer or their phone to help her. They don’t care about the woman’s life because they don’t move from their apartment. They think it will be with their hashtags that woman will be save, but the attacker has a knife and a hashtag will not make it disappear.

The message is that slacktivism can be dangerous for other people who need, the slacktivists think they help a lot of people just with an online petition or changing their social network profile picture but it’s usefulness for issues which are importants like in the drawing. Make an hashtag won’t change the political or social issues, this is the problem of our society today. Too much people think that use social media or technology is a good idea in front of issues but they forget that the most important is too act now and in the real life.

I think slacktivism can be useful sometimes but not all the time. For a cause which is important but not “dangerous” (immediately), it can help to be heard by people who are in the government like education issues or equality issues. But slacktivism can’t evolve all things and problems in the world, this movement will make people lazier and lazier.
