The princess problem LLCE 2019

So, now that you've read the article and watched the video, what do you think about the Princess problem?
Can you explain what it is?
Is it real in your opinion?

I think it's sad that the little girls indentifie herselves in princess with a very unhealthy image of beauty

So what do you think about the author's opinion (in the article) ? Do you think little girls should NOT read fairytales or see Disney movies with princesses? Or is it not the solution?

I think every child should dream with these fairy tale but they should change all the gender stereotypes because the children make their indentities on these stories

they must be reeding some and at the same time learning some science for exemple

girls and boys can watch fairytales but they have to understand that it's not the real life

Princesses don't have job, they only about think about their appearence

One of the problem is that princesse don't have jobs and they don't do anything. It's all about their appearence and it can be a bad example for children.

But do you think it's still true today? Because I think Disney for example is making some efforts nowadays to fight stereotypes, don't you agree?

There is a fun part in every fairytales and disney moovies I just think that they couldn't think they should look like them to be a princess. In the meredith TV show, one of the mother said that her daughter were bullied because she wears sleeves and according to her group of bullies, "princess" don't wear sleeves" in the middle of winter: that's ridiculous

You're right, I can't think of one example of a Disney princess or female fairytale character that has a job... Can anyone?

In the video they said the little girls want looks like to the princess of the Disney Storie's but in reality many of this girls have not the phisics of her. In  Consequences often they have complex about her body;

Fairytails are culture and can make childrens dream

The criteres used to choose the princess is quite unfair and doesn't give a good moral to the childrens. If you just have to wear a dress and have a animal sidekick, then i could be one.
But there still some princess like Gisele in Once upon a time (the movie), she has the dress and the animals but she's not on the list.
About the way that we should more see scientific fact than fairy tales : i think we should see the two. In the real life, it's true that the science is more useful but we must remenber that the fairytales at the starting, were used to give to children(or not) moral lessons like the kindness or to not trust a stranger. they are useful as the science do.

Well, yeah, I totally agre, but I also know that school, and even high school can be a harsh place. Even in NDV, in the middle of winter, you see most students with skinny jeans that stop above the ankle, and white sneakers...it's not really what princess wear, agreed, but it's still too cold!
